I am Junior in High School and a current Student Pilot. I have been playing piano since I was five years old, and picked up trumpet in fourth grade. I’ve been playing those two ever since and focus primarily on trumpet. In my time playing trumpet, I have earned two gold medals at State Solo and Ensemble, been selected for IMEA honor band, participated in two years of Junior All State band, and most recently I started teaching trumpet lessons. I am also a Carl A. Spaatz Award recipient in the Civil Air Patrol cadet program. In the program I plan on earning my private pilot’s license through their Cadet Wings program before I graduate. After I graduate, I’m hoping to attend the United States Air Force Academy or Purdue University Lafayette to study Aeronautical Engineering or Professional Flight. I also hope to be part of either school’s marching band programs.
I am an avid choral musician. I participate in three choirs at my school and a PALS music class as a peer teacher. I am also active in Student Government, Cheer and Dance, JROTC, special needs swimming, and the Science Club. I am also an accomplished composer with my choral program.
My plans after Highschool are to enlist in the Air National Guard as an Air Traffic Controller and attend the University of Wyoming for an engineering degree.
Over the summer I will volunteer with the Wyoming Conservation Corp and work on getting my L1-3 High Power Rocketry Certifications.
Hi! My name is Jovie and I am an aspiring pilot and avid musician. I have been playing flute for the past eight years, and more recently have added on piccolo. I play in the top orchestra in my school, am in my school’s chamber club and have been part of many youth orchestras around Seattle over the years. I have also spent time tutoring flute to elementary school students. For the past several years I have been interested in aerospace, namely fluid dynamics and model rocketry, but since then, I have realized that what I like to do best is truly experience my accomplishments. So, I have turned to aviation, and becoming a pilot. In the fall, I will attend Vanderbilt university where I plan to major in mechanical engineering and minor in music performance while still managing to get in flight hours.
