Courtney Taylor

My name is Courtney Taylor and I am a Canadian aviation enthusiast as well as a musician. I was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick but grew up most of my life in a small city in northern Manitoba called Thompson. Being introduced into music and aviation from a young age my passions for both have only grown stronger with time. My father is a pilot and likes to jam on his bass while my mother loves to sing, and play piano and guitar. I have played clarinet since I was 9 years old and at 17 I am still in love with it. When I did a flying lesson for my 16th birthday, it made me realize that aviation is a passion of mine that will never fade!

  1. Congratulations, Courtney! I totally understand your knowing you had a passion for flying after being in the cockpit flying for the first time. I had the same experience. !! Fly high and blue skies!

  2. Congrats Courtney! Wishing you all the best on your amazing aviation journey, looking forward to hearing all about your progress. All the best from a fellow female aviator & I’m happy to answer any questions you might have along the way either via email or FB (Louise C Vickerman). Hope to see you down here in UT someday.

  3. Congrats Courtney! Looking forward to hearing how your flight training progresses. Perhaps we’ll run into each at Harv’s – St. Andrews one day. I’m their quite regularly.

In addition to being excited for you winning the scholarship, I am also glad that the word about FMA is getting out throughout Canada. When I up in Thompson working as a clinician at the NorMan Jazz Festival, it was there where I mentioned FMA to the teachers and clinicians at the Jazz Festival, and from what I understand, it was Kevin Lewis that provided you the info.

    Congrats again!

    1. You are totally right! Kevin Lewis is my band teacher and he’s the one who gave me all the information on this wonderful program. I am so excited to help get the FMA name out in Canada! I know I’ll probably be meeting you at some point which I look forward to! Thank you so much for all of your support, Mike. It means A lot to me!
